AWGaDi
AWGaDi - The Union African Widows Union is a pan-African movement of widows’ led non-governmental organisation (NGO) focused on improving the status of women in widowhood across the continent through inclusive governance and actions. We recognize the unique challenges faced by widows in Africa, who are often marginalised, ostracised, excluded and denied their basic human rights The AWGaDi was formed in 2020 by a group of African widows led organisations through technology. The leaders saw the immense need for collaboration of efforts, support and services for widows in Africa so as to build a unified force that will drive issues of widows in their communities in harmony with others for policy inclusion.

Our Mission
To build a strong widows' union movement in Africa through inclusive policy, participation and leadership, grants making, strengthening widows' capacity, building strategic alliances and mobilisation of resources.
